Your First Visit

Your first visit will involve a thorough examination of your mouth, teeth and gums and all of the surrounding hard and soft tissues. We may also take some x-ray pictures to see more clearly in between your teeth and under any fillings or crowns you may have. Sometimes there can be problems that cannot  be detected without these images so it is important that we have this information. We will assess how well you are doing with your tooth brushing, discuss your diet and then advise you if you need to make any changes to improve the health of your teeth and gums.

Once we have all the information we can then listen to your treatment needs. We would like as much of your own input as possible. We can then discuss all the options available to you and the costs involved to formulate a treatment plan. It is important that you understand your treatment plan and you will be asked to sign a copy of it. If you change your mind, that is not a problem – the treatment plan can be amended at any time. Of course, treatment plans can change at any time if something changes in your mouth, for example, if you decide to have a white filling instead of a silver one. Whatever happens, you will be given an amended plan so you know exactly what your treatment will cost.

When you have agreed your treatment plan, we may ask you for a deposit (usually 10% of the final fee).

  • All fees must be paid on completion of treatment.
  • We accept payment by cash, cheque and most credit or debit cards.
